4 Wheeler Vs Car Fatality Accident on Milan-Eastman Rd.

An accident involving a 4 wheeler and a car on the Milan-Eastman Road claimed the life of a man today at around 1:00pm.

An eyewitness to the accident told us that the 4 wheeler was traveling on Sweet Home Church Road and ran right out in front of the vehicle that was traveling towards Milan.

Both vehicles ended up in the ditch with the man trapped under the vehicle.

Milan Fire and Rescue were able to extract the man, only to find him deceased.

Dodge County Coroner Joe Smith identified the man as Cornelius Bernard White, age 54 of Rhine Ga.

Fire Blamed in Death of Rhine Man

Rhine FatalityAn accidental home fire resulted in the death of a man in Rhine Georgia Friday evening, October 30, 2015

According to Dodge County Coroner Joe Smith, Gary Lynn Williamson, age 55, died as a result of probable cardiac complications after a passerby rescued him from his burning home on the Old Jacksonville Highway near Rhine.

State Fire Marshal Investigator James Atkins investigated the fire and said that the fire was likely the result of an accidental kitchen fire.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office continues to investigate, but no foul play is suspected.

The Rhine Fire Department and an inmate fire team from Wilcox State Prison responded, along with Dodge County EMS and Sheriff’s Department.

The American Red Cross sent a Disaster Action Team to the scene to aid the family in the aftermath.

LWilliamson2MR. GARY LYNN WILLIAMSON, age 55, of Rhine, GA, died Friday, October 30, 2015 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM Monday, November 2, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, with Rev. Ricky Gilmore, Rev. Chuck Yzenski and Rev. Tim Moorhouse officiating, with interment in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Williamson was a lifelong resident of Dodge County, a member and deacon of Rhine Baptist Church, a 1979 graduate of Dodge County High School and studied electrical training at Ben Hill Irwin Technical School. He was a former trim room worker at Raydon Wear for many years, was a van driver for over 20 years for the Dodge Transit and loved his job at Dodge Transit. He enjoyed cross stitching, cooking and fill-in puzzles. Lynn was preceded in death by his Father – John Clark Williamson.

Survivors: Wife of 34 years – Sybil Crawford Williamson of Rhine; Mother – Delma Dykes Williamson of Rhine; Uncle – Charles Williamson of Rhine; Aunt and Uncle – Taylor & Mary Millwood of Milan; Sister-in-Law – Myra Crawford of Eastman; 3 Brothers-in-Law – James Crawford of Abbeville, Joe Crawford of Eastman and Christopher Crawford of Clinton, SC; Several Nieces and Nephews; Special Pet – CoCo.

The family may be contacted at the Williamson residence, 1433 Old Jacksonville Hwy., Rhine, and will receive friends in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church from 1:00PM-3:00PM Monday, November 2. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to Gideons International Bible Fund.

Fatal Accident on Jim Pruett Road in Dodge County Sunday

As rescuers responded to several serious accidents throughout the day Sunday, one of them was fatal.

An accident on Jim Pruett road claimed the life of a Dodge County man.

It appears the vehicle left the roadway in a curve and flipped over.

Authorities say that a white male, Don Coleman, was pronounced dead on 00116.MTS.00_00_12_29.Still001the scene by Coroner Joe Smith.

Erica Landin was transported to the Dodge County Hospital by ambulance with injuries.

No further information was immediately available. The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the accident.
