Armed Robbery at Hop-In Convenience Store

According to Eastman Police Reports, there was an armed robbery at the Hop-In Convenience Store in Eastman on Saturday morning, April 12, 2014.

At 3:38 am, the clerk called 911 to report the robbery. When Eastman Police arrived the suspect had already fled on foot toward the Cottondale area behind the store. According to the report, the clerk said a masked male suspect entered the store with a handgun demanding money. When the clerk gave up the money, the suspect ran out of the store. The clerk also said that after he left, she heard a “Pop” and believed it to be a gunshot.

No one was injured in the robbery and the suspect is still at large. Eastman Police called for assistance from Dodge State Prison and utilized the tracking dogs in an effort to track the suspect.
